Systems Design Engineer (Abbotsford)

About The Role The Systems Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, analyzing, and verifying complex systems involving mechanical, electronic, firmware and software components. The role requires a broad understanding of engineering principles and methodologies, with a focus on ensuring that all elements of a system function together as intended. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing system requirements, and solving problems related to systems design, integration, verification and traceability. Location Abbotsford, BC Compensation $120,000 to $140,000 (adaptable) Employment Type Full-Time | Permanent What You'll Do - Gather and analyze system requirements from stakeholders. - Author engineering / solution domain requirements. - Assess system components and technologies for feasibility, risk, technological readiness, suitability, performance, scalability, reliability and security. - Implement, integrate and verify various systems and sub-system components. - Troubleshoot system integration issues and provide solutions. - Design, implement, integrate and verify selected subsystems. - Design and execute tests to verify and validate system functionality and performance. - Ensure that systems are compliant with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. - Ensure that verification and validation provide traceability against system requirements.Develop technical and logistical system development plans. - Work closely with a multidiscipline team including (mechanical, electronic, firmware, software, V&V;, and project management). - Create detailed technical documentation throughout the system lifecycle, including requirements, design, analysis, FMEAs, and other technical reports. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. What You Bring - Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. - P.Eng. certification preferred, or eligible and motivated to acquire P.Eng. registration. - 10+ years of relevant product design experience. - Demonstrable system / multidiscipline approach to engineering design. Additional Requirements (preferred) - Firmware development experience is an asset. - Leadership experience is an asset.
