Production Associate (Abbotsford)

Job Title: Production Associate Job Description Join our team as a Production Associate with an opportunity for permanent placement. In this role, you will be responsible for handling and inspecting pipes, assembling shipping crates, and operating machinery. This is a physically demanding position requiring repetitive lifting and the use of hand and power tools. Responsibilities Load and unload pipes from machines. Inspect pipes visually and with a custom measuring tool. Build crates for pipe shipping using hand and power tools, including hammer, nail gun, reciprocating saw, and chop saw. Band and package bundles of pipe. Lift 15-30 lbs repetitively and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Use a measuring tape in both imperial and metric units. Operate overhead crane and forklift once trained and certified. Use hammers and nail guns to secure wood tops on pipe frames. Use saws to cut pipes during startup processes or power failures. Use various wrenches for machine adjustments throughout the day. Essential Skills 6+ months of experience with hand and power tools. Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/8 of an inch and in centimeters. Basic math skills. 6+ months of experience in a production or general labor role in a heavy industrial environment. Willingness to work a rotating shift and 12-hour shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience is an asset. Overhead crane experience is an asset. Work Environment Work in a union facility with a continental shift pattern. The environment can be hot in summer and cold in winter, with a constant humming noise from machines. Personal protective equipment such as earplugs, eye protection, and gloves are provided. Employees must wear steel toe work boots. Work alongside a team of about 16 members on each shift, either with a partner or independently. Shifts rotate every two weeks from days (8am-8pm) to nights (8pm-8am). The work week includes 84 hours over two weeks, with 80 hours paid regularly and 4 hours as double time. The location is at 3065 Sumas Mountain Road, Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.
