Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight over long distances, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of cargo. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and effective route management to support our company's logistics operations. ResponsibilitiesTasks Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption CredentialsCertificates, licences, memberships, and courses Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Experience and specializationDocumentation knowledge Driver logbook Skills Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and other loading machinery Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshooting skills Robust organizational skills for route planning and time management Excellent communication skills for coordination with team members and clients Physical ability to load, unload, and secure freight efficiently Prior experience in heavy equipment operation is a plus This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of our logistics operations, supporting the protected and efficient movement of goods across long distances.
