We are currently seeking a Electrical Design Technologist/CAD Technician with 2 - 6 years of directly related experience to join our growing team. Company Description

Our valued clients include developers, business owners, universities, property managers, government agencies, and industrial companies.Position Overview

The primary role of this position is to work closely with engineers and senior technical staff to develop designs and drawings for the following building systems: Power distribution including schematics and single line diagrams Security system and access control system coordination Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Working closely with the Project Manager and other technical staff to provide clients with completed projects in a timely manner Maintaining open lines of communication and coordinating work with the Project Manager, staff, and project team members outside of SEL Prepare and track construction documentation (change orders, site instructions, shop drawings, RFI’s, etc.) with moderate oversightWorking with the project team to help resolve issues during construction Perform site visits, as required, with direct supervision Participating in discussions with clients as required Good working knowledge of applicable building codes and standards Operate with moderate oversight on typical design problems; seek advice and assistance from senior staff for deeper technical problemsRequired Skills

A passion for design and self-improvement through learning Interpersonal skills: respectful and receptive to opinions of others; communicates ideas clearly Communication skills: credible, attentive, reliable, responsive, and empathetic Ability to identify and understand client expectations, then meet or exceed themKnowledge of MS Office 365 suite Highly skilled in the use of AutoCAD (2D), MS Excel, and other routine design tools Proficiency in Revit (3D), not required but considered an asset Ability to identify risks to clients or SEL and identify technical innovative approaches to complex problems Ability to accurately apply common codes and standards to routine design problemsEducation
