Join the Xyólheméylh team as a Family Services Social Worker focused on Indigenous children and families. This full-time role emphasizes holistic community support, cultural responsiveness, and collaboration.
Located in Abbotsford, BC, you will report to a Delegated Team Leader and provide culturally appropriate community-based services. Your work will focus on promoting the values of Indigenous culture and ensuring a strong connection between children, families, and their heritage. This position also highlights the importance of preventive programming, family reunification, and the engagement of community support.
Key Responsibilities:• Conduct family strengths and needs assessments using Structured Decision Making tools • Collaborate with families and community members on service delivery • Develop and monitor culturally appropriate family plans • Participate in community events and ceremonies• Complete necessary documentation and case management tasks
Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field • Minimum three years of experience in Human Services • Ability to practice BC Child Protection standards • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and cross-cultural issues • Valid BC Driver’s Class 5 License
