Intermediate Architectural Technologist - Hays (Airdrie)

Hays is partnered with an award-winning Calgary-based land developer and residential home builder. They have been creating cutting-edge and successful communities across the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area for almost 30 years. At the present time they are positioned for their next growth phase with a multi-year land base, strong financial resources, and an exceptional management team, with that they are looking to hire a technically minded Intermediate Architectural Technologist to join their Design team. * this is an in office role, with flexibility (dog friendly office) Responsibilities: - Produce accurate, lot-specific construction drawings using AutoCAD, based on standard plans, customer selections, and site constraints - Prepare full drawing packages including site plans, plot plans, and working drawings for permit submission - Coordinate with internal teams (construction, sales, estimating) and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation - Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, bylaws, and municipal requirements - Maintain and update plan libraries and drafting standards to ensure consistency across projects - Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in drafting/ design in wood frame construction - Strong understanding of the local building codes and current land use bylaws for Calgary - Solid understanding of the residential construction processes, building materials, permit processes, etc. - Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent. - Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
