Telecom Network Design Engineer Hybrid Calgary Contract till December 31 Job Description - This position requires a candidate who can apply professional engineering skills and practices to design and commission telecommunication network systems and physical telecom infrastructure. The role involves working with physical engineering design elements such as rack space, power, and cabling. - The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing requirements for TCP/IP-based network and telecommunications systems used at industrial field facilities. They will generate engineering designs supporting Corporate, SCADA, and Control System networks at these facilities. - The role requires familiarity with industrial telecom design concepts, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of RS-232 serial protocols is considered an asset, along with an understanding of control system end devices such as RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs. Previous experience working in a field environment is preferred. - The candidate will perform a variety of tasks ranging from design to remote commissioning. They will work collaboratively with different teams to assess requirements and translate them into cost-effective designs that meet regulatory and operational standards. - This position demands strong communication skills, along with the ability to provide effective customer service and demonstrate leadership within a team environment. Team & Work Environment - The IS Network Design & Engineering team supports lifecycle, growth, and operational enhancement projects. Most projects are schedule-driven and require a high level of quality assurance to minimize safety, operational, and financial risks. Key Requirements - Ability to design and commission telecommunication network systems - Experience with physical infrastructure design (rack space, power, cabling) - Knowledge of TCP/IP-based network systems - Exposure to SCADA and control system networks - Familiarity with industrial telecom concepts and design practices - Understanding of RS-232 protocols (asset) - Basic knowledge of RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs - Ability to translate business and technical requirements into engineering designs - Solid communication, customer service, and teamwork skills - Ability to work on schedule-driven projects with high quality standards Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2nyw57
