Experienced Carpenter for Education Centre, Airdrie

Rocky View Schools is looking for an experienced Journeyperson Carpenter for a full-time role at the Airdrie Education Centre. Provide valuable carpentry skills to enhance the learning environments of over 29,000 students.

Applicants must hold a Journeyman Carpenter's certificate and have a minimum of three years of journeyperson experience. In this position, you will ensure compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act while training apprentices and collaborating on construction plans in a dynamic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:• Seek out innovative materials for school projects • Safely operate tools and equipment during work • Read and utilize blueprints and specifications • Prepare accurate reports and recommendations • Support the training of carpenter apprentices

Requirements:• Journeyman Carpenter's certificate is mandatory • Three years of journeyperson experience preferred • Current Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle License • Knowledge of Alberta Building Code essentials • Strong critical thinking and communication skills
