Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Construction Manager (Contract) with People Places & Spaces, you will serve as the lead technical authority and primary Owner’s Representative Construction Manager for a flagship corporate office project in Calgary.



Reporting to the Senior Manager of Construction in this contract role, you will maintain direct oversight of all project controls and provide mentorship to a supporting Construction Manager and coordinator. This hands-on role is essential in the physical realization of our most complex spaces. You move beyond standard execution to act as a highly accountable and results-focused steward of our client’s capital, ensuring that this multi-floor corporate hub is executed with technical precision, impeccable construction governance, safety, and fiscal responsibility. Your technical leadership and proactive approach to constructability will be crucial in shaping project success and shifting the asset over to the operations team, directly impacting the employee and client experience.

  • CCDC 5B Mastery: Advanced understanding of the nuances between \"Services\" and \"Work\" within the 5B contract, including the management of Construction Manager Fees vs. Reimbursable Costs. Understanding of CCDC5B conversion to stipulated price.
  • Estimating & Quantity Surveying: High integrity data driven estimation experience coupled with critical analysis GC trade awards to ensure market-competitiveness in the Calgary region.
  • Strategic Risk Management: Expertise in managing allowances and contingencies as an owner’s representative.
  • Management of Professionals: Proven ability to coordinate with peer Construction Managers and Coordinators and manage a high-tier General Contractor.

  • Technical Knowledge: Must possess expert-level technical knowledge of building codes, construction methodologies, architectural specifications, and deep-level experience in managing the ecosystem of General Contractors, vendors and Consultants.
