Blend and Production Technician (Airdrie)

BLEND & PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN Full-time | On-site | Blend & Cellar Operations Reports to: Blend Production Manager --- You're the backbone of our cellar — the person who keeps tanks clean, product carbonated, kegs flowing, and the blend dialled in to spec. You take pride in the details, speak up when something's off, and aren't afraid to jump on the packaging line when the team needs you. If you're hands-on, solutions-focused, and love seeing a product go from tank to finished package, this is your role. Core focus areas: CIP tanks & hoses | Carbonation | Pumps | Kegging | Keg cleaning | Packaging line support --- WHAT YOU'LL DO Cellaring & Cleaning - Execute full CIP cycles on tanks, hoses, and pumps — following correct chemical concentrations, contact times, and documentation every time. - Manage carbonation on bright tanks — monitoring dissolved CO₂ levels and adjusting to hit target spec before packaging. - Run the kegging station end-to-end: clean, purge, fill, and seal kegs to spec, maintaining accurate fill records and lot traceability. - Clean and inspect returned kegs, flagging any damaged or out-of-spec units before they re-enter the cycle. - Operate cellar pumps for transfers between tanks — monitoring flow rates, connections, and sanitary fittings throughout. Blending - Read formulas and blend all ingredients in the correct order in the premix tank — hitting target batch size, pH, Brix, colour, and ABV. - Accurately record each ingredient addition in the blend log as you go — no catch-up paperwork. - Verify all ingredients are in-house and within date before blending begins; never start a batch with expired or short-stock materials. - Conduct all required daily QA testing on mixed and blended tanks and record results accurately. - Pump finished blend and water into the Brite tank accurately, confirming volumes and parameters at transfer. Packaging Line Support - Jump onto the canning or packaging line when required — operating equipment, performing QA checks, and keeping output moving to schedule. - Maintain GMPs across all areas — cellar, blend room, and packaging floor — without exception. - Report near-misses, incidents, and any out-of-spec product, equipment, or materials to the Blend Production Manager promptly. --- WHAT YOU BRING - Experience in a beverage, brewing, or food production environment - Familiarity with CIP procedures, sanitation standards, and GMP requirements - Solid mathematical skills for measuring, calculating ABV additions, and hitting blend targets - Able to lift 60 lbs and stay on your feet for a full 8 or 10 hour shift - Strong communicator — clear verbal and written records matter in this role - Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a crew --- OUR CORE VALUES These aren't posters on a wall — they're how we show up every day.
