Mechanical Engineering Technologist (Airdrie)

Duties and Responsibilities - Assist in the inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects - Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications - Carry out a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials - Perform computer-aided design (CAD) - Estimate project costs and material requirements - Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications - Prepare contracts and tenders - Prepare standards and schedules - Supervise maintenance programs or operation of mechanical plants - Supervise, monitor and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects - Test machines and equipment Education - College diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field Experience - Minimum of 2 years of directly related mechanical engineering technologist experience - Proficiency with AutoCAD, Mastercam CAD/CAM, and Microsoft Office applications - Experience preparing and interpreting technical drawings, engineering designs, and specifications - Familiarity with mechanical systems, equipment testing, and construction or maintenance support activities - Experience working in quick-paced industrial or engineering environments with changing priorities and deadlines Areas of Specialization - Gas compression and processing systems - Process piping - Compressors and turbines - Mechanical process design and development Additional Information - Location: 440 East Lake Road, Airdrie, AB T4A 2J8, Canada - Work Location: On site - Salary: $40.45 hourly / 40 hours per week - Terms: Permanent, Full-Time - Start Date: As soon as possible - Bonus eligibility, comprehensive health and financial benefits package Required Skills and Abilities - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines - Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills - Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation - Proficiency with computer applications, CAD systems, and engineering software - Client-focused with strong professional values and ethics - Dependable, organized, and adaptable - Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity - Ability to work effectively under pressure - Team-oriented with efficient interpersonal skills Thanks to all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
