DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Scanning, filing, and organizing documents. - Help with Hazard Assessments, Safe Work Practices and Safe Job Procedures for updating and getting ready to publish when required. - Help with updating PowerPoints for Safety Awards. - WCB and injury claims. - Follow up and preventative measures for injury reduction. - Ergonomic assessments. - Worksite safety inspections. - Safety orientations. - Help with entering information into Simply Safety. - Other administrative duties as directed from the manager, coordinators, and/or administrators. - Relief for Safety Coordinators for sick days, holidays, etc. PREREQUISITES 3.1 Education - Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. - High school Diploma. - Must be able to learn other software programs required by the department. 3.2 Specialized Knowledge - Safety training would be beneficial. - Knowledge of SharePoint, Simply Safety and Acrobat Pro an asset. 3.2 Experience - Experience working in Safety department is a solid asset. - Background of H&S; processes such as incident reporting and hazard assessment. 3.3 Other - As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a drug-free workplace agreement, a Conflict-of-Interest agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement. - Must adhere to dress code for safety sensitive areas which includes closed toed shoes and full-length pants. - Must be prepared to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required. COMPETENCIES - Solid commitment to maintaining confidentiality. - A robust commitment to fostering a culture of Safety and Service. - Solid planning, organization, time-management skills, and comfortable meeting tight deadlines. Results orientated. - Ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a team workplace. - Interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to multi-task and prioritize. - Ability to learn appropriate database and spreadsheets programs. RELATIONSHIPS - Internal: Contact personnel and liaise with Safety Department members, and clients.
