Senior Hardware Designer - Onsite Position Location: Ottawa, ON. Salary Range: $90,300 - $120,400 plus bonus opportunity. Support and enhance existing embedded hardware. Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement. Analyze requirements, research and identify solutions, and develop the design. Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation. Provide input to architecture and design reviews. Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products. Keep current with embedded hardware trends and share knowledge. Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products. Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team. Qualifications Driven and motivated self-starter with keen interest to learn. Strong understanding of electronics and engineering principles and application to real‑world use. Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and achieving deadlines. Strong debug and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Results‑oriented team player who leads by example, holds themselves accountable, takes ownership, and champions process improvement initiatives. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent. 8+ years of board‑level development and hands‑on lab experience (CO‑OP experience is applicable). Experience working with a multi‑disciplined team. Familiar with a product development process. Familiar with hardware test equipment – logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. Familiarity with principles of high‑speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts. Experience with design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics), requirements capture, analysis, and tracking. Hobby projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino. Familiarity with FPGAs.
