Description
As a Senior Tax Staff, you will be a part of our Global Compliance and Reporting Group. Our group focuses on equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to meet major tax challenges and influence business decisions. You will build a network of relationships and evolve into a well‑rounded tax professional with broad experience across tax areas. Your role will combine corporate tax work with structured and virtual learning. You will work on tax compliance, tax accrual review, calculation of income tax provision, and tax planning. You will focus on the main issues affecting clients and help implement tax strategies aligned with their business objectives. Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work products. Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Prepare practical and effective approaches to the client’s tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Share tax planning ideas with others. Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas. Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field. Accounting designation or Master’s degree. Experienced Senior—Minimum of 3 years of relevant CDN Corporate tax experience or equivalent business or industry experience. Broad exposure to corporate income taxation. Ability to research and write utilizing electronic tax tools. Market-competitive salary in Ottawa: $62,000 to $93,500.
