Position Overview WOLF Advanced Technology is looking for a full‑time Engineer, Hardware Design Verification based in Aurora, Ontario. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Design Verification Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing verification strategies that ensure WOLF’s embedded hardware systems meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements across the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities - Developing and executing verification plans aligned with product specifications and requirements - Designing and running test cases while maintaining verification coverage and regression testing processes - Bringing up prototypes and conducting electrical characterization, environmental qualification, and system‑level testing - Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and functional issues to refine verification workflows - Collaborating with design, systems, and validation teams to define verification strategies and coverage goals - Documenting verification procedures, results, and reports to maintain traceability and compliance - Mentoring junior engineers and supporting verification best practices across the team - Contributing to test automation initiatives and continuous improvement across the engineering development process Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience) - 5+ years of hands‑on hardware design verification and debugging experience with FPGA, MPSoC, or GPU‑based embedded systems - Strong proficiency using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters, and the ability to interpret hardware schematics Preferred Skills - Experience performing hardware bring‑up and validation from schematic review through system‑level integration, including debugging complex embedded systems - Experience with high‑speed video interfaces such as SMPTE 3G‑SDI or 12G‑SDI, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI, DVI, or similar high‑bandwidth interfaces - Familiarity with serial communication protocols, including UART, SPI, and I²C, within embedded hardware environments - Strong understanding of schematic reviews, PCB layout constraints, and hardware debugging using schematics and layout tools, with Cadence experience (asset) - Knowledge of power measurement, thermal testing, and signal integrity considerations in high‑performance embedded systems - Experience working with environmental and reliability standards, including MIL‑STD‑810 and environmental cycling chambers (asset) - Understanding of hardware‑software interaction, including firmware‑assisted diagnostics and low‑level driver validation within embedded platforms Benefits - Top‑Tier Compensation: $115,000+ CAD (negotiable based on expertise) - Wellness & Coverage: Health Care Spending Account, short‑ and long‑term disability plans, and a monthly Wellness Allowance - Generous Time Off: Three weeks’ paid vacation plus an additional week of company‑wide holiday shutdown - Adaptable Work Model: Balance in‑office collaboration with time at home to perform at your best - Profit Sharing: Participate in our profit‑sharing program after one year of service - Relocation Support: Assistance available for the right candidate to make the move seamless - Professional Development: Budget for training, conferences, and memberships to keep skills ahead of the curve - Team Culture: Regular social events, bi‑weekly wellness mornings and holiday parties Legal & EEO Statement To join our team, applicants must be able to provide valid documentation to show Canadian or US citizenship or Canadian Permanent Residency, and must undergo a police check with no criminal background.
