As a Full-Time Cleaner (Transit Stations) , you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across public transit stations to the highest standard. This is a permanent full-time position with a schedule of five (5) shifts per week , assigned based on operational requirements. POSTING DETAILS (Mandatory Information) Location: 85 Industry St, York, ON M6M 4L5 Job Classification: Full-Time Cleaner Rate of Pay: $20.15/hour (as per Collective Agreement) Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (before breaks) Schedule: Five (5) shifts per week Shift: Morning-6:30 AM- 2:30 PM Number of Positions: 6 Employees Your work will include: - Cleaning and disinfecting station areas including entrances, concourses, platforms, and washrooms - Sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning, and high-touch surface cleaning (doors, railings, elevator, faregates/TVMs) - Replenishing washroom supplies (toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap) and completing required checks/inspections. - Using auto-scrubber and auto-sweeper as needed. - Prioritized work order completion and reporting to quality assurance. - Reporting issues such as graffiti, damage, hazards, or cleanliness concerns as required, and then removing it on approval by Supervisor. - Performing periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as machine scrubbing floors and detailing surfaces (as assigned) - Garbage collection and liner changing and interior and exterior litter pickup WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? - Full-time stable employment with consistent weekly hours - Be part of an industry that’s more important than ever - Career advancement opportunities - Work with a growing organization - Be #1 on day 1 by joining an industry leader. Qualifications WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? - A excellent attitude and strong attention to detail - Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) – mandatory - Cleaning/janitorial experience is an asset (minimum 6 months preferred) - Floor care experience is an asset (machine scrubbing and detailing) - Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods in a public-facing environment - Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely - Able to communicate professionally with supervisors, clients, and the general public - Able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, pushing/pulling equipment) - A clear criminal background check is required for this role Additional Information Dexterra Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
