WOLF is seeking a motivated and hands‑on Junior Mechanical Engineer (New Graduate) to join our special projects team supporting the development of rugged embedded computing systems and defence‑grade electronic packaging solutions. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate with robust mechanical aptitude, technical curiosity, and an interest in thermal/mechanical system design, validation testing, and new product development (NPI). The successful candidate will work with other engineers in key disciplines to support engineering documentation, mechanical testing, environmental qualification activities, and the development of advanced ruggedised systems including VPX chassis, conduction‑cooled systems, and integrated mechatronic assemblies. Key Responsibilities - Conduct knowledge‑based technology searches and industry benchmarking activities related to: - Materials and coatings - Thermal devices and cooling technologies - Manufacturing processes and finishes - Industry standards and emerging technologies - Summarise findings and provide recommendations to engineering teams. - Execute mechanical and thermal performance testing on: - Electronic assemblies - Rugged embedded systems - Mechatronic assemblies - Custom thermal/ mechanical test setups - Assist with setup, instrumentation, operation, and reporting of engineering tests. - Support troubleshooting and analysis activities during testing and validation. - Execute discrete engineering tasks assigned by lead Mechanical/Thermal Engineers and Technical Management. - Participate in prototype builds, design reviews, and product validation activities. - Contribute to additional tasks and projects as required. Your Edge You are a recent Engineering university graduate in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with a strong foundation in mechanical design, thermal systems, and hands‑on engineering practices. You possess proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD platforms such as CATIA, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Visio, Adobe Premiere, and related technical software tools. You demonstrate exceptional technical writing abilities, including the preparation of engineering documents, test procedures, and validation reports. You bring practical hands‑on experience working with electronic assemblies, mechatronic systems, and mechanical/thermal test setups used in performance evaluation and validation activities. Exposure to thermal analysis tools and material engineering principles, including terrestrial and space‑grade materials and finishes, would be considered strong assets. You are highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and research‑driven, with the ability to contribute to R&D; initiatives supporting both current and next‑generation product development. You also possess a strong interest in, and experience leveraging, Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance engineering design, technical research, data analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency. You are eager to explore emerging AI‑enabled engineering methodologies to improve productivity, innovation, and decision‑making within a collaborative product development workplace. You thrive in a team‑oriented setting and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
