Murphy Hotels in Dalvay by the Sea, PE JOB DESCRIPTION: POSITION: Sous Chef REPORTING TO: Director Of Operations - Dalvay by the Sea - D.P. Murphy Hotels SALARY: Compensation commensurate with education and experience TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time - Days, Evenings & Weekends LOCATION: Dalvay by the Sea, Prince Edward Island POSITION SUMMARY: Dalvay by the Sea is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and fully qualified Sous Chef to help guide the culinary team under in our busy, full menu restaurant. We also cater to a variety of events including weddings and corporate functions. We offer a relaxed fine dining experience in a historic Victorian home, operated as a 26 room Inn. We feature high-quality modern cuisine, with an emphasis on highlighting the island's many fresh and local offerings. JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will possess the following skills and certificates: - Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or comparable education preferred - Food-secure certificate is an asset - High skill level in menu creation and product development - Minimum four years experience in a similar role in food services - Previous management experiences an asset - Ability to work flexible hours, and special events - Assist in managing a busy kitchen - Assist in ordering and monitoring supplies - Ability to stand, walk and be on their feet for extended periods of time - Ability to lift at least 40 pounds Attention to detail is a must, as is demonstrated culinary expertise. We want someone with dedication and passion, able to produce delicious dishes that are elevated yet simple and familiar.
