Job Overview Wilderness Union is hiring a freelance driver to support our transportation needs. You’ll operate our 11 and 24 seater shuttles, run comprehensive pre and post trip safety checks, and safely transport our clients across the GTA and beyond. Work is mostly on the weekend with some weekday hours available. Driver schedules are posted in advance for you to accept based on your availability. Please note that this is a casual position with shifts offered based on the needs of the company. About Wilderness Union Wilderness Union is Toronto’s largest outdoor adventure community. We make it easy for city dwellers to explore Ontario’s wild places by supplying transport, gear, and a friendly crew of members who turn into long‑term friends. Each week we run day hikes, camping weekends, paddling trips, and other outings. We also provide private group charter services. What you’ll do: - Ensure timely pick-up and drop off of our clients - Drive either a 12 or 24 seat passenger vehicle from Toronto to locations across Ontario - Perform and log pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle safety inspections - Properly use the vehicle's Electronic Logging Device (ELD) - Ensure the vehicle is clean and fuelled at all times - Follow planned routes, manage pick‑ups and drop offs at established meeting points, and keep to schedule - Help load and unload gear, assist participants with secure boarding and seat‑belt use - Provide safety briefings to passengers before each journey - Maintain a calm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere - Complete logbooks and fuel/expense records - Quickly escalate any operational issues to a member of our staff Position Requirements: - 3 or more years of experience driving vehicles of Class F designation or higher with passengers (required- proof of 3 years experiences will be requested) - Valid Ontario Class F license (required); B license (preferred) - Clean CVOR abstract (required) - Excellent communication in English and a customer‑service mindset (required) - Legal right to work in Canada (required) - Vulnerable sector check (preferred) - Weekend & week day availability (preferred) Schedule and Pay: - Outdoor excursion trips run mainly on weekends with charters usually running during the week - Typical day‑trip shift: 8–13 hours; typical charter shifts: 5-8 hours - Pay range: $20 – $25 per hour If you fulfill the requirements and are interested in the job, please submit your resume and a short statement of interest.
