Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Aurora)

We have recently expanded and committed to growth in the USA market, which has presented yet another opportunity to expand our team *PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE PACKAGING MACHINERY DESIGN EXPERIENCE* Responsibility - Mechanical Design of large and technically complex packaging equipment - Prepare plant layout and equipment proposals - Understanding of engineering and statistical calculations and problem-solving approaches. - Experience in designing parts for a variety of fabrication techniques (CNC Machining, Sheet Metal Forming) and ease of assembly. - Completes all required machine build drawings (drafting) as required - Completes “as-built” drawing updates on machinery when required, reviews updates/changes with the other departments when required - Generates Bill of Materials (BOM) for both purchased parts and raw manufactured materials as required - Experience in SolidWorks / AutoCAD (minimum 2 years) - Maintain all project and drawing files - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines / budgets - Communicate project concerns, project status, and design solutions with management, fellow staff, and clients - In coordination with Project Management participates in presentations of the design to the client, acquires client signoff the design concept to proceed with detailing and manufacturing - Create and maintain efficiency in the design process - Mentors’ other designers with the mechanical design and detailing of larger systems - Coordinate with suppliers and machine shops to ensure part quality and timing Qualifications and Education Requirements ** - Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. - Must have packaging machinery design experience 2 + years preferred. - Knowledge and understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing process. - Creative problem-solving ability. - Solid analytical and numeracy skills. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately. - Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment and independently. - Innovative thinker and proven problem-solving skills. - An eye for detail and a methodical work process.
