Warehouse Operator (York)

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse distribution tasks, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and safety protocols to maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with heavy lifting, order picking, and shipping & receiving is highly valued. Duties - Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and clamp trucks to load and unload materials safely and efficiently - Manage warehouse distribution activities, including order picking and packing for shipments - Perform fixing operation on the product inside the warehouse to re-generate them and re-sell them. - Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures - Assist with inventory management using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock levels and locations - Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance - Support shipping & receiving operations by preparing items for dispatch or receipt - Perform heavy lifting tasks as required, adhering to safety standards at all times - Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency - Collaborate with construction or logistics teams when necessary for large-scale projects or relocations Experience - Previous experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is preferred - Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous - Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or clamp trucks is highly desirable - Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safe operation of heavy machinery - Background in construction or related fields can be beneficial but not mandatory - Demonstrated ability to perform order picking, load & unload activities, and shipping & receiving processes - Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with warehouse equipment operation will be considered a plus This position offers an opportunity to work in a quick-paced environment requiring physical strength, technical skills, and attention to safety.
