Job Details
Location: Etobicoke, ON M8W 4J5 Salary: 24.00 to 34.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 88 hours bi‑weekly Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time Shift: 07:00 to 16:30, with overtime available Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience
Required experience: 2 to less than 3 years in welding or related metal fabrication Work must be completed on site; no remote work option Work environments: at heights, dusty, hot, and dirty conditions Responsibilities
Interpret welding process specifications, blueprints, drawings, and manuals Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications Operate manual or semi‑automatic flame‑cutting equipment Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines Fit, braze, and torch‑straighten metalDetermine weldability of materials Operate hoisting and lifting equipment Operate pre‑set welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products Train or assist in the training of other workers Read blueprints and drawings Required Certifications
Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Fall Arrest Protection Training Course Materials, Techniques, and Equipment
Materials: Steel, iron, and heavy metals Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) Equipment: Arc welding machine, gas welding machine, grinding machine Specialization Areas
Custom fabrication Fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings Physical&Work Conditions
Fast‑paced environment Handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Physically demanding tasks with standing for extended periods Hand‑eye coordination required Personal Suitability
