About the Professor, English Language Program Role The successful candidate will deliver courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), TOEFL, IELTS, Workplace Communication, and Canadian Society&Culture curricula. The role includes teaching a full range of courses in the EAP area and exam preparation, participating in curriculum refinement and redesign, defining and evaluating learning outcomes, developing learning materials, providing academic counseling, and collaborating with program and faculty staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

TESL Canada/Ontario accreditation

(OCELT is preferred)

Minimum of two years’ teaching experience

in a Canadian or international post‑secondary public or private sector ESL programs

Experience&Skills

Ability to participate in a program orientation in Toronto

Must be able to live in Japan for a minimum of 9 months

Demonstrated cultural competency to develop and deliver culturally responsive curriculum

Engaging and effective teaching skills

Ability to coach and support students

Experience managing classroom dynamics

Strong knowledge of current pedagogical principles

Ability to work with students of varied educational and cultural backgrounds

Well‑developed interpersonal skills

Collaborative team player and commitment to a positive team culture
