Description The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto invites applications for a one-year full-time contractually limited term appointment (CLTA) in Logic. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026 and an end date of July 31, 2027. Applicants must have earned a PhD degree in Philosophy or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. We seek candidates who can teach introductory classes in logic and whose teaching interests complement and enhance the departmental strengths. Candidates must have teaching experience in a degree-granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures. Additionally, candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities. The salary range is $110,000 to $135,000 CAD per annum, depending on experience, with negotiations beyond this range considered for exceptionally qualified candidates. Responsibilities
Teach introductory classes in logic.
Prepare and deliver lectures, including development of online materials.
Develop and maintain course curriculum.
