Description
Sr. Startup Solution Architect, Canada Startups Do you like startups? Are you interested in cloud computing? If so, we have a role you might find interesting. Startups are the large enterprises of the future. These young companies are founded by ambitious people who want to build something meaningful and challenge the status quo. They often operate with limited capital, engineering resources, or experience. This is where you come in.
Key Job Responsibilities
Engage directly with startup customers to provide technical advocacy as they build their products in the cloud, ensuring they spend as little time and money as possible.
Create plans, in conjunction with other member teams, to define how you will help customers with their cloud needs.
Share technical knowledge broadly by participating in startup‑focused sessions with larger groups of customers.
Collaborate with other AWS teams, such as marketing and training, to create content that can be delivered to the broader startup community at scale.
A Day in the Life As a Startup Solutions Architect, you partner directly with co‑founders and CTOs to architect scalable cloud solutions that accelerate their growth. Your day involves evaluating technical requirements across AI, containers, and serverless architectures, leading hands‑on workshops, and designing migration strategies with partners. You collaborate with fieldengineers and product teams to remove scaling bottlenecks, optimize costs, and translate startup feedback into product improvements. Your guidance helps startups reduce time‑to‑market and build resilient architectures that fuel their expansion.
About the Team The Canada Startup Solutions Architecture team works in collaboration with sales, business development, and marketing. Team members come from diverse backgrounds, including development engineering, machine learning, and former CTOs. Together we aim to create a new chapter in Canadian startup history.
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or internet industries.
8+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
8+ years of specific technology domain experience (software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data&analytics).
Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
2+ years of deep learning, computer vision, human‑robotic interaction, or algorithms implementation experience.
Experience influencing C‑level executives or startups.
Benefits and Compensation Base salary range: 146,000.00– 211,600.00 CAD annually (Canada – Toronto). Amazon’s total compensation may include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs) and other elements. The package also includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life&AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to improve health and well‑being.
