Overview The Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑track position as Assistant Professor in Organizational Behavior, Implementation Science, and Advanced Technologies. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of January 1 , 2027. The successful candidate will also serve as Embedded Scientist in the Science of Care Institute at Sinai Health for a six‑year term, renewable following a favorable review.

Responsibilities

Develop and pursue an innovative, independent research program focused on organizational behavior, implementation science, and advanced technologies in health and health care, establishing an externally funded and competitive portfolio.

Lead and conduct research studies, mentor trainees, clinicians and staff within Sinai Health and IHPME, and build research and innovation capacity.

Teach courses in micro‑ and meso‑organizational behavior, and qualitative or mixed‑methods courses for professional and research students; assume academic leadership in the professional and research programs.

Contribute to curriculum development related to management and organization science and, as opportunity arises, teach undergraduate courses.

Collaborate with the Science of Care Institute’s Chief Scientific Officer and Sinai Health leadership team to raise the profile of organizational behavior and implementation science for advanced‑technology innovation and implementation life cycles.

Qualifications

PhD in organization theory, behavioral science, implementation science, health administration, public health, health systems research, management sciences, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research in organizational behavior and implementation science, with a focus on advanced technologies in health and healthcare.

Evidence of ability to secure competitive external research funding, publish in top‑tier peer‑reviewed journals, and obtain strong referee endorsements.

Experience engaging knowledge users, policy makers, and the public in research, and a record of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Teaching dossier including teaching philosophy, sample course materials, and evidence of instructional effectiveness.

Teaching Responsibilities The selected candidate will teach graduate courses in organizational behavior and mixed‑methods research. Opportunities exist for undergraduate instruction and for advancing curricula in management and organization science.

Salary and Benefits The expected salary range is $130,000–$150,000 CAD per annum, depending on experience. Negotiations beyond this range may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
