1st Shift General Labour, Toronto

Position: General Laborer

Location: 501 McNicoll Ave Toronto, ON

Pay:

$18 CAD/hr (probation first three months)

$18.72 following three-month probationary period

$1 CAD/hr extra for continental shift premium

Job Summary Support the production and repack operations through the physical movement of products that are needed to be processed through the drying/curing room.

Responsibilities

Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.

Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.

Pack materials and products for shipment or storage according to company standards and customer requirements.

Label items accurately and clearly in accordance with shipping and inventory guidelines.

Strap, wrap, or secure packages and pallets to ensure safe transport and storage.

Clean equipment, work areas, and general facility space to maintain a safe and organized environment.

Maintain an organized and clean work area. Perform duties in compliance with all safety policies and practices.

Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.

Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.

Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities.

Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.

Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Hardworking and enthusiastic

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Able to manage and set priorities in a changing environment.

High degree of self-motivation and flexibility.

Analytical and structured work approach.

Physical Demands

Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.

Must be able to lift 50lbs, and push or pull up to 100lbs

Schedule

Sunday to Tuesday: 6am-6pm

Wednesday: 6am-12pm

Flexibility is a must; schedule subject to change based on production needs
