General Summary

The Senior Analyst, Lease Accounting involves reviewing and interpreting lease documents to ensure accurate setup for billing tenants and verifying the accuracy of tenant recoveries during key processes such as month end, final billings and the annual budget process. The role will be part of a high-reaching team that values people development and long-term growth, and will be responsible for tasks such as completing recovery calculations, assisting various teams with lease setups, and providing financial analysis.Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Review and interpretation of lease documents Track all leasing activity for assigned portfolio Ensure accurate tenant billings Ensure accurate lease setup in the accounting system Assist property management teams in investigating and responding to tenant queries or disputes Maintain recovery calculationsEnsure accuracy of recoveries during month end, final billing and the annual budget process Complete recovery calculations within the Common Area Maintenance (CAM), utility and property tax models Post monthly recovery accrual Identify, recommend, and implement process and system improvements Set up tenant recovery models for new properties as requiredSupport business partners Provide accounting with variance commentary Assist asset management, legal and leasing teams, ensuring deals are drafted to maximize recoveries Provide financial analysis to determine the impacts of selected exception deals and recovery ratios Assist property managers in analyzing leasing impacts on ratesQualifications

University degree 5 years of experience in reading and interpreting leases, preferably for commercial tenants Understanding of accounting concepts as they relate to the real estate industry Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong financial analytical and problem-solving skills Detail oriented and focused on accuracyExcellent communicator in both written and verbal form Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a teamwork environment Thrive in organizations that constantly evolve and can work well under pressure Driven to achieve results and strive to deliver high performance through creative thinkingExperience working with large ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards or Yardi Salary range: $72,000.00 - $108,000.00 per year.
