Cook– MARU Japanese Bistro (Full-time/Part-time)

At MARU, we’re a cozy Japanese bistro in the heart of Leslieville, serving dishes made from scratch. We’re looking for a cook who is passionate about food, teamwork, and creating a welcoming dining experience. Responsibilities

Prepare and plate menu items with care and consistency Maintain kitchen cleanliness and follow health&safety standards Assist with prep and daily mise en place Monitor food quality and temperatures, and communicate with the team Work closely with chefs, servers, and bar staff to create a smooth service Other duties as needed in a small, collaborative kitchen Qualifications

1+ year of kitchen experience (restaurant experience preferred) Knowledge of cooking methods and kitchen equipment Interest in Japanese cuisine (experience an asset, but training provided) Strong sense of teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail Passion for culinary arts and guest experienceBringing your own knives is recommended (we encourage cooks to use tools they are comfortable with) Details
