Job Summary
The Department of Medical Imaging at St. Michael’s Hospital (SMH) and the University of Toronto seek a full‑time, fellowship‑trained academic Interventional Radiologist. The successful candidate will receive an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor and will be expected to contribute to teaching, research, and clinical service.Responsibilities
Perform all types of vascular and non‑vascular interventional radiology procedures. Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and trainees at all levels in the area of formal fellowship training. Participate in the acute on‑call roster covering interventional radiology. Contribute to radiology resident rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.Process and interpret vascular CT and MRI studies; optionally interpret other diagnostic modalities (X‑ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI). Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and high‑volume patient care. Lead clinical leadership and research activities in interventional radiology at both the University of Toronto and SMH.Collaborate with Vascular Surgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Trauma, and other acute care programs. Qualifications
MD or equivalent with completion of residency in Diagnostic Radiology and fellowship in Interventional Radiology (or an accredited IR residency). Preference for additional diagnostic fellowship in abdominal imaging. Experience in interventional oncology, pain management interventions, pulmonary AVM embolization, or transperineal prostate biopsy is an asset.Additional training or experience reporting chest CT and spine MRI/CT is an asset. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or research. Eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification or comparable qualifications.Compensation&Benefits
The salary range exceeds $200,000 CAD per annum for a full‑time equivalent, with opportunities for increased salary based on experience and academic credentials. Additional benefits include: Access to three dedicated IR suites, two neurointerventional suites, nine ultrasound units, three CT scanners and four MRI scanners.Dedicated IR day unit and expanding outpatient IR service capacity. Research support through the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute and the Keenan Research Centre, with significant AI research resources.
