Tech Lead– Core Payment Team
Work Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada Hours:
37.5 per week Pay:
$102,200 - $125,000 CAD per year Discretionary variable compensation available based on performance. Responsibilities
Lead technical discussions and mentor junior to senior developers within the team. Contribute code, design foundations for features, and maintain quality code consistently with standards. Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to gather feedback, shape technical requirements, and maintain an accurate roadmap.Provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post‑production deployment; review peer code. Participate in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis, and adhere to enterprise delivery practices. Consult with clients and/or project teams on development issues as subject‑matter expert.Debug production issues quickly, focusing on maintainability and long‑term improvement. Ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and extensible. Continuously deepen knowledge and stay current with leading‑edge technologies. Promote a positive work environment, quality, innovation, teamwork, and timely communication of issues.Report directly to an IT Manager or higher. Qualifications
Graduate/Undergraduate degree in Technology or related field. 5+ years of extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, DevOps, Kafka. Strong algorithmic problem‑solving skills. Deep understanding of Microservices and Composite API architectures. Experience with SOAP, REST, Unix shell scripting, SQL, NoSQL databases.Familiarity with vulnerability scanning (e.g., Veracode, SonarQube), log management (Splunk, Dynatrace). Proficient with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Experienced with JIRA, Confluence, Nexus, Maven. Knowledge of software design patterns, architectural standards, and design artifacts (UML, DFDs, decision tables, ER models).Ability to work independently, support multiple deliverables, and communicate effectively. Experience leading development teams and projects. Payments domain experience is preferred. Additional Information
