Description
We are hiring a Senior Analyst, Finance (Personal Banking) to join a team operating at the heart of banking. In this role, you’ll support core products that drive the bank’s success—everyday banking products, mortgages, loans, lines of credit, savings and deposits—giving you direct exposure to tangible, relatable areas of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with meaningfulfinancial products while playing a key role in how the bank makes money. You’ll be responsible for journal entries and reconciliations, with a strong focus on accuracy, self‑review, and attention to detail, rather than heavy reporting. We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong Excel skills (macro exposure is a plus), and experience with Essbase. The ideal candidate holds or is pursuing a CPA designation and can take ownership of work, running with tasks independently while maintaining a high standard of quality. Responsibilities

Consolidates, analyzes, and reports on the financial performance of the business/group to support the month‑, quarter‑, and year‑end closing process, including financial reporting and governance.

Supports an efficient and effective accounting function that uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, and increases service level performance.

Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and relevant information and reporting of group, legal entity, and reportable segment results for management and statutory reporting.

Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Breaks down strategic problems and analyzes data and information to provide accounting insights and recommendations.

Identifies opportunities for alignment with accounting/finance processes and other operational processes.

Acts as point of escalation on operational matters and on matters falling outside of policy.

Analyzes financial results to support financial period closing and reporting processes and provides insights and recommendations.

Gathers and formats data into regular and ad‑hoc reports and dashboards for assigned legal entity, business, or group financial information packages.

Supports the preparation of journal entries, monthly and quarterly reporting packages, financial statements, applicable tax payments, and reconciliations in accordance with accounting rules and standards.

Provides information and supports the process for internal (e.g., corporate and SOX) and external audits.

Reviews supporting documentation, escalates areas of concern, and makes any necessary amendments.

Coordinates and executes specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives, including tracking metrics and milestones.

Executes routine tasks (e.g., service requests, transactions, queries) within relevant service level agreements.

Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.

Develops knowledge related to business/group accounting requirements and standards.

Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.

Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, in line with the approved Risk Appetite and within the bank’s risk culture.

Qualifications

Typically between 4–6 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Completed or near completion of an accounting designation.

Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Data‑driven decision‑making ability.

Salary&Pay Type Salary: $61,600.00– $113,900.00 (Salaried). Salaries may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. For commission roles, the salary listed represents the expected target for the first year in this position.
