The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. With something for everyone, the CNE offers a wide range of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats!

We’re looking for an energetic and personable Bartender to join our team in a fun, fast-paced environment. In this role, you’ll craft quality drinks, create memorable guest experiences, and help maintain a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Our venue can shift from relaxed, slower periods to high-volume rushes, so we’re seeking someone who thrives in both settings, staying proactive during downtime and efficient under pressure. If you enjoy working with people, bringing positive energy to every shift, and being part of a dynamic team, this role is for you.Responsibilities of include but are not limited to:
Welcome guests, take drink orders, and make recommendations based on customer preferences
Present drink menus and inform guests about new beverages, features, and specials
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including mixing, garnishing, and ensuring proper presentation
Check identification and follow responsible alcohol service guidelines
Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately, provide correct change, and balance the register
Monitor guest behavior to
maintain
a safe and respectful environment
Maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas, including clearing glassware and sanitizing surfaces
Restock liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware to keep the bar fully supplied
Take inventory and
assist
with ordering supplies as needed
Follow all health, safety, and quality standards and regulations
Complete opening and closing duties, including setup and cleanup
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service during slow and busy periods
Qualifications and Requirements
Available to work flexible hours, including evenings,weekendsandLabourDay– All18 daysof the fair
(August 21 - September 7, 2026)
Must be Smart Serve Certified
Previousbartending experience preferred (high-volume experience is an asset)
Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and standard drink recipes
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Friendly, outgoing personality with a positive attitude
Ability to multitask and stay organized in both slow and fast-paced periods
Comfortable working long shifts on your feet
Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy rushes
Proactive mindset-able to clean, prep, and restock during slower periods
Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support coworkers
Experience with cash handling, reconciliations, and POS systems
Works effectively with minimal supervision
Other duties as assigned
Special Conditions
Must be able to stand or remain in stationary position for extended periods of time Comfortable working in areas that
contain
bright lights, loud
noises
