Part-Time Member Services / Front Desk Associate Maternity Leave Coverage with Potential for Ongoing Employment Iron Realm Fitness – Barrie, ON Overview Iron Realm Fitness is seeking a proactive, personable, and fitness-minded individual to join our team as a Part-Time Member Services / Front Desk Associate. This position is being hired as maternity leave coverage, with the potential for ongoing employment following the coverage period for the right candidate. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming atmosphere, delivering exceptional customer service, and being part of a premium fitness environment. The successful candidate will support front desk operations, member experience, facility presentation, and general gym floor upkeep during staffed hours. Key Responsibilities Member Services & Front Desk Operations - Welcome members and guests in a warm, professional, and friendly manner - Manage member check-ins and assist with general inquiries - Respond to membership questions and provide information on services, personal training, and gym offerings - Process payments for memberships, merchandise, supplements, and other services - Support scheduling, administrative tasks, and day-to-day front desk operations - Maintain a clean, organized, and qualified reception area Member Experience - Build positive relationships with members and help foster a supportive community atmosphere - Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally - Deliver a high standard of customer service and ensure every member feels valued - Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all times Gym Floor Support & Facility Upkeep - Regularly walk the gym floor to maintain an active staff presence - Ensure equipment is organized, cleaned, and returned to its proper place - Assist members with basic equipment operation and general usage guidance - Monitor the facility for cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation - Report maintenance issues, concerns, or equipment problems as needed - Help ensure all members follow gym policies and etiquette standards Qualifications - Previous experience in customer service, front desk, hospitality, or fitness-related roles is preferred - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Confident, approachable, and professional demeanor - Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently - Basic knowledge of gym equipment and exercise is an asset - CPR, First Aid, and AED certification are considered strong assets - Post-secondary education in fitness, kinesiology, health promotion, or a related field is an asset What We’re Looking For - A team player with a positive attitude - Someone who is dependable, self-motivated, and takes pride in their work - A candidate who is passionate about fitness, health, and creating an exceptional member experience - Someone who is comfortable working in a hands-on role that includes customer service, cleaning, organization, and member support What We Offer - Competitive hourly wage - Complimentary gym membership - Opportunity to grow within a premium private fitness facility - Supportive and community-driven work environment Schedule This is a temporary part-time position for maternity leave coverage, with the potential for ongoing employment based on business needs and fit.
