Co-op Student, Bus Service Design, Toronto

Contract up to 4 months starting September 2026 Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Our Bus Service Design Team is looking for two (2) Co-op Students to assist with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of GO Transit bus services. You will work with internal partners to provide analytical support in the completion of required tasks and deliverables. You will report to the Senior Planning Officer, Bus Operations Planning.What will I be doing?

Site visits to bus stops across GO Bus service territory Input bus stop data into Hastus software Provide a variety of administrative and technical services to support the business which may include preparing reports, memos, documents; sorting/collating/filing documents Develop spreadsheets, forms, and databases to input, track, store and retrieve dataWork with internal and external partners to collect data, respond to queries and exchange information Help produce daily/weekly/monthly operational documentation and reports Provide support to staff in a variety of areas, including gathering, inputting, organizing, and interpreting data for reports/presentations/meetings/projectsThis role will be required to frequently travel within the GTHA. What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

Must be enrolled in a full-time accredited coop program in order to be considered for this position Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment Enrolled in an Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies or other relevant programs at a post-secondary institution Must be able to drive for long periods of time within our service territoryClass G Ontario Driver’s License in good standing Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills are required Competence in software such as Microsoft Excel/Office (experience in ArcGIS and R Studio would be an asset) Ability to cooperate and assist other co-workers with various projectsIf you’re excited about working with Metrolinx but your past experience doesn’t quite align with every qualification of this posting, we encourage you to apply.
