As the Staff Product Designer– Visual Experience, you’ll define and elevate the visual design direction for Loblaw Digital. You’ll lead teams to raise the design execution bar, establish a shared visual language, coach teams to bring that vision to life, and create space for bold creativity. You will help deliver customerexperiences that are functional, beautiful, ownable, and brand‑aligned.You Will

Lead and evolve the overall visual design direction across all domains at Loblaw Digital (e.g., Online Grocery, Loyalty, Health, Retail Media, Beauty, and Apparel) Lead the visual design execution of high‑complexity initiatives with modern, scalable, accessible interface design Own the quality oversight and critique process for UI craft and design system usagePartner closely with Product Design Leads and Directors to embed visual design into the strategic planning, design review, and delivery process Push continuous improvement of our design system, including component updates, new patterns, documentation, and education Coach and mentor product designers to grow visual design capabilities across all levelsBuild and maintain visual design standards, systems, and playbooks in collaboration with our design systems lead Partner with engineering to ensure visual quality and fidelity are protected during build Conduct design reviews, workshops, and critiques to raise team quality and consistency Help teams measure success through design quality indicators and post‑launch UI performanceCreate prototypes, design specifications, and artifacts that clarify how experiences should look, feel, and behave Identify opportunities for system‑level improvements that deliver long‑term efficiency and product excellence Influence org‑wide storytelling by shaping how we present design internally and externallyWhat You Bring

Champion of visual craft with passion for spacing, hierarchy, typography, accessibility, contrast, and subtle UI interactions; evangelizes polish and judgment Steward of our design system, scaling great design and ensuring quality survives shipping Decisive, trusted critic who delivers clear critique that improves work; responsible for final visual quality approvalsCollaborative, bringing multidisciplinary teams together to align on quality goals and simplify complexity Outcome‑minded, balancing beauty with purpose to improve customer satisfaction and support business goals Mentor and multiplier, raising dozens of designers through best practices, tools, and clarity on excellenceIdeal Experience

10+ years of visual, product, or brand design experience with a strong focus on digital interfaces and products 5+ years in a senior or lead‑level design role, reviewing and coaching visual design across multiple teams Proven track record of delivering visually exceptional work across consumer‑facing digital products (bonus if in eCommerce, Health, Loyalty, or Retail Media)Experience working in a cross‑functional environment with product, engineering, and brand/marketing teams A portfolio that demonstrates excellence in visual design, systems thinking, and cross‑platform execution Experience contributing to or collaborating on a design system Experience presenting work to executive stakeholders, with solid storytelling and rationaleWe believe great people model our values, are authentic, build trust, and create connections.
