Senior Developer– Databricks (Data Engineering)

Implement and maintain Databricks SQL, PySpark, and Databricks Workflows solutions for enterprise‑scale data processing. Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust data architectures. Design and build end‑to‑end data architecture on Databricks to support scalable analytics and reporting.Develop PySpark‑based pipelines for large‑scale structured and semi‑structured data processing. Create high‑performance Databricks SQL models, queries, and semantic layers. Establish Databricks Workflows orchestration standards, including scheduling, dependency management, and monitoring.Code, test, tune performance, and monitor scalable, reliable data solutions. Apply data governance standards (lineage, access controls, naming conventions). Collaborate with data modelers to define logical and physical data models. Ensure policy compliance, continuous improvement through performance analysis and optimization.Make technical decisions and balance trade‑offs. Qualifications

6+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud‑based analytics. Proficient in Databricks SQL and Databricks Workflows. Experience building scalable, high‑performance pipelines, distributed data processing, and data warehousing. Experience with data governance, quality, and security frameworks.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Knowledge of Life&Annuities insurance domain (a solid asset). Familiarity with Azure data ecosystem, data modeling, and semantic layers. Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional. Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent cloud/data certifications. Location&Schedule

Hybrid (combination of in‑office and remote work). Day shift with collaboration across distributed teams. Compensation

CAD $95,000– $120,000 per year (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and location). Benefits
