Professor, Cardiovascular Perfusion– Contract Full‑Time, onsite at The Michener Simulation Lab with some online teaching. Hours: Full‑Time. Salary: $58.11 – $69.39 per hour. Program Overview

The Michener Institute of Education at UHN is Canada’s only post‑secondary institution devoted exclusively to the applied health sciences professions. We are hiring a Professor for the Cardiovascular Perfusion Master’s programme, the largest and only Masters‑level program in Canada that trains perfusionists across Ontario. The successful candidate will lead curriculum design, assessment, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.Responsibilities

Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory learning spaces, equipment, and materials in alignment with learning objectives, professional standards, and academic policies. Provide on‑site instructional support to students, answering questions and reinforcing program requirements, competencies, and procedures.Deliver full‑day laboratory instruction for perfusion students, including hands‑on training in the operation of heart–lung machines, ancillary equipment, and relevant pharmaceutical systems. Facilitate case‑based simulation exercises that replicate clinical scenarios related to open‑heart surgery andtransplant procedures.Dismantle and reset lab environments following sessions and prepare labs for upcoming daily, weekly, and evaluative learning activities. Document and track student feedback, progress, and competency achievement; contribute to follow‑up learning plans as required. Develop and coordinate student lab schedules and learning activities in collaboration with program staff and external faculty.Order, inventory, and quality‑check laboratory supplies and equipment to ensure safety, functionality, and readiness. Respond to student inquiries and support program operations through effective communication and coordination with program staff and external faculty. Qualifications

Perfusionist with a minimum of three years’ of demonstrated clinical experience is preferred. Certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion (CSCP) or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). Masters level education in a discipline‑relevant field is required. Certification by and/or membership in relevant professional association(s).Previous teaching experience is considered an asset. Demonstrated clinical experience and currency. Benefits
