Senior Property Accountant
North York, ON– hybrid or remote $60,000 - $95,000 base plus perks (part-time vs full-time) The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the full-cycle real estate accounting and the generation of timely, accurate financial reports for the real estate assets. This role supports internal decision-making through detailed analysis of actual results and management of the monthly close cycle. This is a position requiring a hands‑on professional capable of collaborating across the team to provide critical financial insights.The company is very open to having this person work remotely, hybrid, or in the office and this can be a part‑time or full‑time position. Minimal training will be provided. Ideally, we would like to find someone who has used MS 365 Business Central (Navision). Responsibilities
Financial Accounting&Reporting: Manage the full monthly close cycle, including the preparation of month‑end entries, bank reconciliations, HST returns, and general ledger maintenance. Asset Management Support: Handle accounting for asset acquisitions and dispositions, including proration adjustments, reconciliations, and accounting for closing statements.Accounts Receivable&Payable: Actively monitor AR and manage AP processes to ensure accurate expense coding and timely collections. Audit&Compliance: Support annual audits by preparing schedules and documentation with high attention to detail. Capital&Project Accounting: Track capital project costs, maintain capital asset continuity schedules, and process monthly depreciation and accruals. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve workflows and shorten the month‑end close process to provide stakeholders with faster financial information.Qualifications&Experience
Experience: Minimum of 8‑10+ years of full‑cycle real estate or commercial property accounting experience. Technical Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with Business Central or Navision is required. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. (Note: Experienced candidateswithout a CPA designation are encouraged to apply).Soft Skills: Robust analytical and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to understand complex financial concepts and "connect the dots".
