Attention culinary enthusiasts! Are you prepared to create culinary magic in a vibrant, fast‑paced setting? Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport is on the hunt for a skilled Second Cook to join our lively team. If you have a knack for delicious crafting meals to perfection while adhering to recipe standards, we want you!Responsibilities
Prepare meals for respective section(s) (restaurant, outlets, etc.) and assist in all kitchen activities to ensure that guests receive high quality food items in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, neat, and well‑organized work area, including but not limited to reach‑ins, walk‑ins, and counters. Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.May maintain supplies and equipment (trays, China, silver, and condiments) for service at the station areas. Advise supervisor of low inventory items and problems related to equipment, food quality, portions, etc. Perform receiving and inventory duties as specified by supervisor; stock supplies as requested.Assist cooks and may assist stewards during peak activity periods. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Catering, Banquets, Outlets, Maintenance, and Guest Services. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of experience in food preparation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some college preferred. Attention to detail. Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, stressful environment.Availability
