The Opportunity
Our client, a rapidly growing multi-site healthcare organization, is seeking a Senior Real Estate Manager to lead and oversee a complex national real estate portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, this role will be responsible for driving lease strategy, managing critical landlord and vendor relationships, supporting acquisitions and new site development, and ensuring the ongoing optimization of the organization’s real estate footprint.This is a highly visible position that combines strategic planning, financial oversight, negotiation, and operational leadership. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to directly influence the organization’s continued growth through site selection, lease management, portfolio analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration with executive leadership, construction, facilities, and finance teams.What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and mentor members of the Real Estate team, providing guidance, support, and leadership across day‑to‑day operations and strategic initiatives. Oversee a national portfolio of leasehold and freehold properties across multiple markets throughout Canada. Drive lease renewal strategies by proactively managing upcoming expiries, renewal timelines, and extension options to support long‑term portfolio planning.Identify and evaluate new market opportunities for expansion through acquisitions, relocations, and greenfield developments. Conduct market research, territory analysis, and competitive assessments to support strategic growth decisions and real estate planning. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of real estate and leasing documentation including leases, subleases, assignments, amendments, purchase agreements, parking agreements, estoppels, and related contracts.Support real estate transactions tied to acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio optimization initiatives. Oversee lease administration processes, including rent rolls, lease tracking, invoice approvals, reconciliations, lease audits, and property tax management. Manage and optimize the organization’s lease management systems and real estate reporting tools.Prepare business cases, financial analysis, and proposal presentations for executive leadership and capital approval committees. Partner closely with Construction, Facilities, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of capital and expansion projects. Collaborate with landlords, external consultants, vendors, lease auditors, and tax specialists to ensure compliance, cost control, and operational efficiency.Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners on all real estate and leasing matters. What You’ll Need To Be Successful
8–10+ years of progressive experience within commercial, healthcare, medical, or retail real estate environments. Proven experience managing large‑scale national lease portfolios across multiple sites and jurisdictions. Strong background in lease negotiations, lease administration, portfolio management, and real estate operations.Solid financial and analytical acumen, including experience with rent reconciliations, property tax analysis, budgeting, and lease‑related reporting. Demonstrated ability to lead projects, improve processes, and implement operational efficiencies within a growing organization. Robust negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively with both internal leadership and external partners.Experience leading or mentoring team members within a collaborative and high‑performance environment. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving business environment where adaptability and initiative are highly valued.Compensation Range
$110,000 - $120,000.
