Senior Manager, Management Accounting (Toronto)

Our client is a leading real estate investment and asset management organization with a diversified North American portfolio. They are seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to join their finance team in a hands‑on leadership role focused on financial reporting, consolidations, and operational accounting within a complex multi‑entity environment.Responsibilities

Review month‑end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting outputs Oversee corporate tax compliance activities including quarterly/annual projections, instalments, and variance analysis Manage sales tax filings (GST/HST/QST) and support preparation of legal entity financial statementsOversee accounts receivable, billing processes, and related corporate accounting functions Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants within the corporate accounting function Liaise with external auditors for year‑end audits, SOC compliance testing, and tax filings Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting processes on a monthly and quarterly basisIdentify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities within accounting workflows Act as a key finance business partner across property, fund, and operational teams Support ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as required Qualifications

CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting designation) required Minimum 6+ years of experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, or public accounting within a multi‑entity setting Experience working within real estate, investment management, or similarly complex multi‑entity environments considered a strong assetAdvanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills Experience with Yardi or similar real estate accounting systems considered an asset Strong leadership capability with experience managing or mentoring accounting teams Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across finance and non‑finance stakeholdersProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality output under tight timelines
