Oracle PL/SQL Developer (Toronto)

Location&Work Style

Toronto, ON. Hybrid: 2 days per week in-person at Toronto office preferred. Responsibilities

Design and implement database objects, including tables, views, indexes, and sequences. Write and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using tools such as Oracle Cloud Control, AWR reports, and EXPLAIN PLAN; optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for maximum scalability and speed.Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database software; manage database storage, plan for capacity growth, and perform routine patching and maintenance. Implement robust security measures, including data encryption, user access controls, and auditing; ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN). Design and manage ETL processes for data migration between systems or into data warehouses using utilities such as SQL*Loader and Data Pump. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field. Years of experience: 6–8 years in Oracle PL/SQL development. Required Skills

Deep knowledge of Oracle Database architecture (12c, 19c) and advanced PL/SQL programming techniques, including bulk processing, collection types, and error handling. Proficiency with development and administrative tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer, and Oracle Enterprise Manager. Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting for automation.Knowledge of ESP scheduler is desirable. Certifications

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Associate (OCA). Soft Skills

Analytical Thinking: troubleshoot complex system issues and design creative data solutions. Collaboration: work effectively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, business analysts, and project managers. Communication: explain technical database concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and produce detailed technical documentation.
