Summary

Senior commodity engineer with extensive experience in managing electronic component quality. Must have experience working directly with suppliers to drive quality improvement activities through defect monitoring, reporting, corrective action processes, and supplier audits. Responsibilities

Document, maintain and improve implementation of processes. Provide advanced technical expertise for production or customer‑identified material problems. Maintain quality of materials to ensure cost and delivery targets are met. Visit suppliers to evaluate their process controls and reliability programs.Provide quality and reliability performance data to suppliers and internal management team. Perform supplier assessments/risk analysis and make recommendations regarding supplier selection. Work with suppliers to improve overall yield of assemblies and quality of materials. Define process problems that lead to throughput or quality issues.Determine root cause of problems and implement short‑ and long‑term solutions to stabilize processes. Gather, analyze, sort and distribute data to understand and solve quality issues. Utilize quality tools and team‑problem‑solving methods to drive root‑cause analysis of problems and implement improvements.Work directly with customers to resolve systemic problems in the process. Analyze feasibility in acquiring and implementing new assembly / test technology and prepare technical reports of findings. Perform supplier audits and qualifications working closely with commodity management to determine supplier strategies and development of the preferred supplier list.Qualifications

Six to eight years relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In‑depth knowledge and understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, subassemblies, or other related products. In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment used for systems and printed circuit boards and subassemblies.Knowledge of industry and quality standards and SPC methodologies. Knowledge of materials and components used in the construction of systems and printed circuit boards and subassemblies. Knowledge of product pricing, contracts and contract negotiations. Knowledge of design engineering (e.g., analog circuit design, digital circuit design, digital integrated circuit design).Excellent customer and supplier contact, negotiation and problem‑resolution skills. Strong presentation, database management and computer skills. Strong knowledge of statistical process control methods and techniques. Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems. Ability to evaluate materials, gather and analyze data and determine root cause ofproblems.Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers. Strong supplier management skills and audit experience. Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, TS16949, ISO 13485 compliance standards.In depth experience of electronic component specification review and recommendation of alternate sources. Physical Demands

Duty performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances. May require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator) frequently required.Salary&Benefits

Salary Range: $105,000– $155,000. The stated range includes base salary and target short‑term incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.
