Our team of 20 is growing quick, and we are looking for a dedicated legal and compliance hire to build the foundation that will support our next phase of growth.The Role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own our full accounting and tax function. You will be the sole finance person, working directly with the co-founders. This is a hands‑on, full‑cycle role covering bookkeeping, tax, HST, payroll, and financial reporting. As a growing startup, we are building out our finance function properly for the first time. You will work alongside external tax advisors who support us on specialized matters, while you own the day‑to‑day books and operations.We are not expecting you to handle everything alone, but you will be the person who runs the day‑to‑day and knows when to bring in outside help. Responsibilities

Accounting&Reporting

Maintain books in QuickBooks Online or Xero Perform monthly bank and Stripe reconciliation Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Share monthly financial updates with the co‑founders Tax&CRA Compliance

Prepare and file annual corporate tax returns (T2) Manage HST/GST filings, remittances, and Input Tax Credit (ITC) recovery Manage CRA correspondence and maintain the company in good standing Advise on tax planning Payroll&HR

Process payroll and ensure remittances (CPP, EI, income tax) are current Issue T4 and T4A slips Onboard new employees in the HR and payroll software Coordination

Work alongside external tax advisors on specialized compliance and filing matters Liaise with external firms and legal counsel as needed Flag risks and present options proactively Requirements

CPA designation or equivalent professional experience 3+ years of experience with Canadian corporate tax (T2) and HST/GST compliance Full‑cycle accounting experience Proficiency with Xero or similar software Experience with Stripe and subscription‑based revenue Comfortable working independently in a small company environmentNice to Have

Extensive experience with CRA Familiarity with SaaS or digital product businesses What We Offer
