Description
Reporting to the CNC Milling and/or Turning Supervisors, the Operator will be responsible for operating CNC Milling and/or Turning Centers, adhering to the specifications outlined in operation sheets, and ensuring efficient, safe operations while maintaining product quality standards. The successful candidate must be able to work flexible shifts as required.

What You Will Do:

Operate multiple Makino 4-Axis Horizontal CNC Milling Centers with Fanuc controllers with minimal supervision, progressing to setup.

Operate multiple DMG Mori multi‑spindle, multi‑axis CNC mill‑turn lathes and Hardinge 2‑Axis CNC lathes with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controllers, with assisted supervision, progressing to setup.

Follow work instruction documentation and procedures to mount fixtures and establish work coordinates.

Utilize basic knowledge of cutting tools, including speeds and feeds, to optimize machining processes.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and apply geometrical dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).

Use precision measuring equipment and gauges to inspect machined parts and features.

Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and ensure quality compliance.

Maintain an organized and clean workspace, adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.

At least two years of experience working in a machine shop environment with CNC machines, working to extremely close tolerances.

Strong mathematical skills in geometry and trigonometry.

Demonstrated ability to follow rules, regulations, and safety protocols.

Effective interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Qualifications We Prefer:

CMM (coordinate measuring machines) knowledge of operation.

Ability to identify, select, and prepare tooling for machines.

Strong organizational skills for managing paperwork and quality reports.

Willingness to learn and acquire additional knowledge through study or experience.

Experience working in a team‑oriented, multi‑tasking environment.

The starting rate for this position is $21.88/hour.
