We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to play a key role in the design and delivery of custom automation systems. This is a senior technical position ideal for someonewho: Has robust experience in mechanical design for automation or custom equipment Takes ownership of their work and project outcomes lead technical execution and support junior designers You will work on complex projects while helpingto elevate overall design quality, consistency, and team capability. The Senior Mechanical Designer is responsible for the development of mechanical designs from concept through to completion, ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with project requirements. project execution and technical leadership , supporting the Mechanical Design Manager while helping guide junior team members and improve design standards across the team. The Senior Mechanical Designer is responsible fordelivering on time and within budget , and proactivelyidentifying and resolving design challenges that may impact performance ordelivery. Developdetailed 2D/3D mechanical layouts, models, and drawings using SolidWorks Create workingdrawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials for custom automationsystems Ensure designsmeet performance requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and qualitystandards Take ownershipof assigned projects or major design packages from concept through release Collaboratewith project managers, controls engineers, and manufacturing teams Support andguide junior designers, providing technical mentorship and feedback Ensure properdocumentation, revision control, and adherence to company processes Providetechnical support during fabrication, assembly, and commissioning asrequired high-quality, accurate, and complete designs alignedwith project requirements Demonstratesstrong ownership of projects, contributing to go-to technical resource for complex design challenges manufacturability, efficiency, and performance Diplomaor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or equivalentexperience Provenexperience designing complex mechanical systems or custom equipment Strongproficiency with SolidWorks (3D modeling and detailing) Effectivecommunication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers Experience withERP systems (Zoho preferred) is an asset Why Join Black Controls technical leadership and influence design standards RRSP match,extended health care, dental care, and employee assistance program Our hiring process does not rely on artificial intelligence (AI) to assess or select candidates.
