The Customer Service Assistant will work at the Retail Locations or the student residence and is responsible for: Taking and preparing food and beverage orders. Using Point of Sale devices to cash out customers. Performing hot&cold food temperature checks and logging of measured temperatures. Monitoring stock levels and replenishing products. Maintenance of a clean and safe working environment. There are eight (8) Customer Service Assistant positions available. Equal Opportunity Statement

A minimum of six (6) months of related experience in a similar role. Successful completion of a secondary school diploma. Knowledge of food service procedures, preparation and production. Knowledge of WHMIS. Knowledge of Food Safety and Physical Safety rules. Food Services Industry Toronto Public Health Food Handlers certification and Smart Serve Ontario certification are an asset.Good communications skills are required to effectively interact with students and customers in a professional manner. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and as an effective team player is required. Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, including tact and diplomacy, to ensure efficient and effective support for members of the TMU community.The incumbent must be comfortable being exposed to undesirable and disagreeable conditions when working in a full-service hospitality environment with heat, fumes, odours and noise and the potential for cuts and burns if safety procedures are not followed. Physical Requirements
Please note: there is a moderate level of physical effort required to perform the responsibilities of the role; this involves carrying or moving weights (inventory and equipment) between and including 30 pounds (lbs) for short periods of time.
