Job Description Our Cooks are responsible for producing the highest quality dishes, working efficiently and mastering cleanliness in their environment.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and senior chefs to accurately execute food orders and ensure consistent and high-caliber food preparation and presentation that meets restaurant standards.
Ensure the highest level of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety is adhered to in the handling of food items.
Ensure all food products are stored in appropriate containers, labeled, and rotated, to minimize waste, maximize quality, and ensure freshness.
Respond in a positive, budget-conscious, and timely manner to all internal and external guest requests and complaints, while meeting the restaurant’s standards to exceed the guest’s expectations.
Accurately follow all reporting procedures for accidents and incidents in the workplace.
Adhere to all policies and guidelines, checklists, prep sheets, and par sheets, as assigned.
Aid in meeting and exceeding department objectives.
Consistently conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner.
Motivate fellow staff and encourage high self-esteem and efficiency in the workplace.
Display a positive attitude and contribute to a healthy team culture.
Perform ad hoc duties as required to support the overall effectiveness of the kitchen team and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
Minimum one year of prep or cooking experience is preferred.
Excellent multi-tasking skills.
Experience working more than one station at a time is considered an asset.
Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and leaders.
Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
Food Handler's certification is an asset.
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Information Hourly Rate:
$18.00-$21.00 per hour
