The Grange of Prince Edward winery in Hillier, ON is looking for several experienced cooks (part-time / seasonal) to join our 20+ person strong team. We are located at 990 Closson Rd. in beautiful Prince Edward County. Job Description: We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and reliable cook to join our culinary team. This role will primarily focus on preparing high-quality dishes in our bistro kitchen, with occasional shifts supporting our food truck operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, values teamwork, and has a strong understanding of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen efficiency. Responsibilities: - Prioritize our guests' experience. Engage in a warm, welcoming manner to create a positive first impression. - Contribute to a positive team environment that emphasizes cooperation and collaboration. - Prepare and execute dishes according to our seasonal bistro menu. - Assist with food truck service, ensuring quality and efficiency at off-site events. - Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. - Monitor ingredient freshness and assist with inventory management. - Work collaboratively with the culinary team to create a seamless dining experience. - Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Qualifications: - 5+ years of cooking experience in a restaurant, bistro, or catering setting. - Ability to work efficiently in both a traditional kitchen and a food truck environment. - Strong knife skills and understanding of cooking techniques. - Ability to take direction and work well in a team setting. - Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and occasional off-site events. - A passion for food, hospitality, and wine pairing is a plus. - The physical ability to stand for extended periods, carry a case of product (40 lbs) up a flight of stairs or over uneven terrain, and thrive in a frequently fast-paced workplace is required. - ⁠The ability to participate in our events, weddings, and private dinner business that frequently run past midnight.
